Mad Men has officially been picked up for a fifth season, though for those you who have been following this story, it should come to no surprise that it comes with a few caveats.

TV Newsline: FX renews our faith in television
After the sadness of last week's cancellation of Lights Out (and the still lingering sadness some may have over the cancellation of Terriers, like this blogger does), FX has finally been able to deliver some good news, as it announced today that it has renewed the current "ass kicking" show, Justified, for a third season.
(For those of you still wondering, no word yet on the future on Archer, though expect that news any day now.)

AMC's 'The Killing' premiering this Sunday
Perhaps I have been hypnotized by the shiny ads. Perhaps I've been turned into a mindless zombie by brand loyalty. Or maybe I've been snorting crystal meth. But whatever the reason, I have decided to cover AMC's new show The Killing, which will have it's two-hour premiere this Sunday at 9/8c. So tune in, enjoy, and be sure to drop by the blog afterwards for my review of the premiere.

TV Newsline: Glee to release (yet another) album
Because teenage girls and creepy men who live in their basements just can't get enough of the stuff, Glee is releasing yet another album, this with songs sung by Mckinley High rivals, and all around plot machination, The Warblers.
Even though the albums have been a big financial boost for both the show and the Fox network, at some point it must be asked when this gravy train will stop running. But we call all rest assured that we will still be hearing about these albums long after we have grown irritated at there mere presence.
The complete track list can be found at HitFix.

Review Schedule, Interrupted
Sometimes grad school can get in the way of one's nonprofessional television criticism duties. Even if that time is during their spring break. Go figure.
To make a long story short, I will be out of town for the next couple of days in order to do research for one of my classes, and as such my ability to deliver timely reviews for shows airing Monday and Tuesday will be shot. This means that my reviews of Chuck, The Chicago Code, Glee, and Lights Out will all be delayed, most likely to be posted on Wednesday.
Given how often such reviews are delayed by my class schedule, I would like to apologize ahead of time for these subsequent delays. I'm truly sorry.

SNL: "Zach Galifiankis/Jessie J"
Which Zach Galifianakis hosted SNL last season, there was a lot on anticipation, and even more disappointment. Admittedly, it had little to do with Galifianakis, who gave a genuine effort, and more with the writing, but there was still some trepidation over what Galifianakis' return tonight will signal for the show. See how he did as a second time host, after the jump....

SNL: "Miley Cyrus/The Strokes"
Before I get this review underway, a few things:
1. I have spent most of my day grading student's tests.
2. Miley Cyrus irks me to my very core
3. Due to the ire raised by 1 and 2, I've been doing some drinking.

All in all, this should make for a very interesting (and possibly entertaining) reviewing/reading experience, so click through at your own risk.....

Modern Family: "Two Monkeys and A Panda"
In recent months, Modern Family unfortunately hasn't been living up to the high standards set by seasons one, which generally means I've been taking it out of the review rotation, as I don't like to cover a show week to week if I am just going to point out the same problems each post.
